Deanna Germano, Chef/Foodpreneur
Chef Deanna said this was her first time occupying the space just outside the Overpass Fest. Despite the distance from the event, which was maybe 500 feet or more, we give her kudos for making a nearly flawless jalapeno lemonade (a little bit savory and little bit sweet). In our opinion, she was a few sample cups away from selling out and or having her concoction become the official summer beverage of the Creekwalk.
Rock star Jess Novak played a soothing tune this evening at the Meetup event (Overpass Fest).
Style-ish Generation
Props to Syracuse’s favorite sartorial artist Michael Heagerty for organizing the Over/Under Fest along Onondaga Creek this evening. He is pictured here recording one of the performing musicians. Props also for rocking the 100 % paper hat with adjustable leather strap, and of course, his vintage wheels.
Louisville, KY may have the Derby, but in Syracuse we have the Duck Race.
Here are some photographs from today’s 13th Annual Duck Race to end Racism, sponsored by Interfaith Works. The event took place at the Inner Harbor Pavilion; the race started at the Kirkpatrick entrance of Onondaga Creek.
Media personality George Kilpatrick (center) leads the crowd in a Wobble dance in the Harbor Pavilion before the duck race.
NoExcuses’ Michael Heagerty put on his dancing shoes and led a Conga Line by the creek on Monday afternoon.
Unusually warm, fall weather and the Columbus Day holiday provided a great mix for creating the longest Conga line to ever groove past Onondaga Creek (near the Inner Harbor) yesterday. This was the first of a series of pop-up events by the group PlayedOut Syracuse!

Onondaga Creekwalk ceremony
The city and county continue to develop in and around Onondaga Creek. The current section of the creek is open from Armory Square to the Lakefront.
