Moe Harrington is versatile. A few weeks ago we saw her belt out a tune from the “Wiz,” and on Wednesday (at the Downtown Marriot) she was singing Christmas Carols.

Vocalist Nancy Kelly (along with Rick Montalbano) kicked off the Jazz at the Cavalier, (Downtown Marriott). The 28 week cabaret series continues each Wednesday evening. The next vocalist will be Ronnie Leigh.

A small rally for the development of the then closed Hotel Syracuse was held at Columbus Circle in June 2004. According to then Common Councilor Stephanie Miner, our city has a history of tearing down our greatest assets and paving them over. Tonight Mayor Miner gave her final State of the City Address from that renovated Hotel (now a Marriott).

Marriott Syracuse Downtown: Lobby
The palatial Warren Street landmark, formerly known as the Hotel Syracuse, will officially re-open today as The Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Some final touches were being added yesterday evening but the transformation looked wonderful, including the historic murals and coffered ceilings.
