Flashback to when Guy Davis, the son of Ruby Dee & Ossie Davis, played Syracuse (Hendricks Chapel) in 2006. He is appearing this weekend in PA and in Canada.
We have to give credit where credit is due.
Larry Luttinger and the Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival staff did a great job this year. Not only did they extend the festival a third day (to add Blues), but also literally weathered a thunderstorm, followed by sticky humidity, one cancelled performance, and another headliner who showed up injured.
But of course, the show must go on.
Overall we heard some great music and saw some memorable performances, including a tribute to Jeff Houston and fantastic Friday dance party with Atlas.
Hopefully, the Jazz in the City series that they produce in August won’t bring so many surprises.
