CNY’s Tamar would be the perfect choice to sing the National Anthem at a Syracuse v. Georgetown or Syracuse v. Duke game basketball game in the future. We saw her sing the chill bumps out of people during an impromptu gig at the Pan African Village last week. Her vocal power would be the perfect lead in for a memorable big-time athletic contest. The team won’t play either in the coming season, thumb but maybe she can sing for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Game (Dec. 5).
We went to see Rich Cimini not because he has some great stories about Bill Parcels, Rex Ryan and Jim Boheheim; not because he’s covered 24 Super Bowls and over 400 NFL games, but we went to say thank you. Cimini pulled us in on a story he was doing back in the day about Laveranues Coles and Steve Yarnell.
Cimini’s gesture helped us tremendously that year. Thanks Rich.
Also kudos to Professor John Nicholson, from the Newhouse Sports Media Center, who each year puts together a great roster of sports reporters to visit Syracuse and talk about their craft.
There are numerous benefits about Syracuse joining the ACC: the history, the tradition, the rivalry, and of course, the fans. Today at the NCAA East Regional Final open practice sessions, we had the pleasure of meeting a gracious lady known as the CSPAN Mom. Despite her recent celebrity status and invitation to the White House Correspondent’s Dinner, on this day inside the Carrier Dome, safe from the rain, Joy Woodhouse was just another fan who traveled here to have her team’s back.
She said she hoping for another miraculous run by N.C. State.
Mrs. Woodhouse enjoy your stay.
