We are not sure if the NBA Finals are rigged, as many are saying, but if last night’s show at Juneteenth was any indication, there is a possibility that we can all (fans of each team) just get along. With a grain of irony, Bay-area native Chante’ Moore just happened to choose J. Black (who was wearing a Lebron jersey and Cavs cap), to join her on stage for a personal performance.

Wednesday, April 27th, 2016The start of baseball in Syracuse signals spring and new beginnings. Despite the team’s record in April we are always hopeful.
This year the Syracuse Chiefs did a great job selecting SU grad student Lena Pringle as the on-air announcer. Her spirited attitude and passion for the team and our region are just what we need in times like these. Sometimes we need to see someone else zealous about the things we take for granted.
If Jason Smorol is Mr. Excitement for the Chiefs, Pringle is definitely Ms. Enthusiasm.
In business we’d call this a strategic fit.

Sunday, January 17th, 2016Lastly…(Syracuse should never miss another bowl game)
Thursday, December 31st, 2015About a decade ago there was a big push to prepare the city (more hotel rooms) and the Dome (better press box) to host a NCAA final four. Now we have more hotels rooms, but is the Dome is ready? In the past few years, there has been another public discussion to either repair the Dome or build a new multi-sports facility.
Our question is this…as various teams and conferences around the country play college football bowl games in the next few days, when will Syracuse host a bowl contest? We’d love to see an annual bowl game featuring HBCUs (and their dazzling bands), mid-majors or even smaller colleges.
Syracuse provides world-class shopping. There is free bus service from most hotels in the city to the steps of the Dome, and in the past few years we’ve even had great weather in late December.
This would be a great precursor to a Final Four award from the NCAA. Bring on the Wegmans Bowl.
What’s the hold up?
