Opening Day in April (Syracuse)
The Chiefs and catcher Jhonatan Solano came within a few seconds of taking the last game of the season against the Buffalo Bison to extra innings. Despite the strong finish and robust crowd, and the Salt Potato uniforms, the Chiefs lost 3-2.
Andrew Stevenson and the Chiefs rocked the Salt Potato jerseys one last time for the season finale.
Chiefs outfielder Brandon Snyder singled in the first inning and later scored on a single by Bengie Gonzales. The action was part of tonight’s four-run, two out rally by the Chiefs in the first inning. The lost the game to Indianapolis 5-4.
Coach Dino Babers tossed out the ceremonial first pitch at NBT Bank Stadium last night for one of the last home stands for the Syracuse Chiefs. This year he threw out a football (a perfect spiral btw)
Louisville Bats shortstop Zach Vincej made an acrobatic play in the bottom of the 5th inning last night to double up Michael Almanzar and Alejandro De Aza (who singled). But Alejandro De Aza (who went 3-for-4) got the last laugh by hitting a walk off homer to win the game in the bottom of the 9th.
Alejandro De Aza-Hero for the day
Third baseman Brandon Synder makes a play late in yesterday’s game against Louisville. The Chiefs won 4-2.
