Former MLB star Bill Buckner threw out the first pitch at Saturday’s Chiefs game. Saturday’s game was re-opening day .
Buckner, a former batting champ, played in the Majors during four different decades.

Chiefs Shortstop Trea Turner
Don’t let his baby face fool you, Syracuse Chief’s dynamic shortstop Trea Turner is an assassin at the plate and is having a killer season. Tonight he went 3 for 4 in a Syracuse win.
For the season the 22-year old NC State grad is batting nearly .300.
Turner snags a fly ball in the first inning of tonight’s game vs. Toledo.

It’s beginning to look a lot like mid-summer around here. Last night the Chiefs and Indianapolis game started as a classic pitcher’s classic. Syracuse’s Aaron Laffey (left) and Indy’s Chad Kuhl threw smoke and shut outs for 3 innings during a balmy evening at NBT stadium.

Rochester’s Adam Walker steals second after he started off the 7th inning with a single.
Nearly 7,000 fans, including several Central New York school children, packed NBT Bank Stadium Wednesday morning for Education Day. The 8-2 Rochester win featured some fireworks during the 7th inning, including a Chiefs error (Solano) and a missed call at the plate.
The Chiefs will play Buffalo tomorrow.
Kennys Vargas and Adam Walker headed home during the 7th. Walker was called out.

Pitcher Austin Voth pitched shut out ball for five innings for the win. The final score was 5-0.
