`Stephen Strasburg kicked his second rehab in high gear by striking out the first three Pawtucket batters he faced on Monday night.

Steve Strikeout: Strasburg kicked his rehab into high gear by striking out the first three Pawtucket batters he faced on Monday night.   He continued to throw hard and mow down batters. He worked 5 2/3 innings.

What a difference a week makes. For his second rehab start Stephen Strasburg put the hammer down on the Pawtucket Red Sox, and registered 11 strikeouts while giving up five hits. The Chiefs also provided some major offense, including home runs by Matt Skole (1B) and Jason Martinson (3B).

The Chiefs won 9-3.  Mission accomplished.

The Chiefs scored three runs in the bottom of the first, thanks to a double and a steal of third by shortstop Trea Turner.

This week marked the return of Washington National ace Stephen Strasburg to Syracuse.

Always a crowd favorite, all eyes were on Strasburg from the time he hit the field for warm ups.

For his first rehab start Strasburg pitched three innings, gave up three runs, had a balk and was hit during a ground out to the mound.

Dan Frigolette of B'ville will go to the ends of the earth to get a joke.

Dan Frigolette of B’ville will go to the ends of the earth to get a joke.

The Comedy’s Best Kept Secret Tour blew into The Syracuse Funnybone on Thursday and marked the return of comedic native son, Dan Frigolette.  Also on the bill were Rell Battle (Comedy Central, Key and Peele) and newcomer (to Syracuse) Matt Richards.

So far the tour has logged nearly 7,000 miles, landing in 52 cities for 66 shows (including Canada and Alaska). No topic for the Syracuse leg of the tour (which added Travis Blunt) as the comics went in on Bill Cosby, crazy politicians who choose to swim in Onondaga lake, social media etiquette, Ebola virus, re-defining ladies night, and life on the road.

We are hoping Frigolette will soon unleash the behind the scenes video footage, which has to be a cross between “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” and “National Lampoon’s Vacation.”
