Rochester’s Ben Paulsen is a bona fide slugger. In a three game series against Syracuse this weekend his numbers were as follows: 4 of 9 with 8 RBIs and 3 home runs.
Chiefs centerfielder Rafael Bautista stole third base after doubling in the first inning of today’s second contest of a double header with Rochester. Rochester won the first game today 6-2 and the second game 10-4. After inclement weather postponed the first two games, Rochester swept the weekend series.

Opening Day
Carlos Delgado, playing in 2004 with the Syracuse Chiefs.
Plenty of socially conscious athletes have come through the Salt City (from Jim Brown and Oren Lyons to Melo), but one we often overlook is deserved MLB Hall of Famer Carlos Delgado, whose protest came that season he came to do a rehab stint with the Chiefs.
Chiefs first baseman Matt Skole was awarded the 2016 Rawlings Sports Gold Glove for his defensive work this season.
During the bottom of the second inning Chiefs leftfielder Zach Collier hit a double off the wall and drove in two runs.
Collier turned around in the top of the third inning and climbed the left field wall to to retrieve a hit. The Chiefs defeated the Rochester Red Wings 6-4.
Chiefs shortstop Adrian Sanchez
A few things we noticed during today’s Syracuse Chiefs matinee contest vs. The Gwinnett Braves: the crowd was great for a noon time start, Adrian Sanchez made a fashion statement with his compression undershirt, and lastly that there’s no way that the umpires should have missed the call during the six inning when they mis-ID’d Mel Rojas Jr’s foul ball as a home run (we had a vantage point near right field). Fans often give umps a hard time at NBT Bank Stadium, but this wasn’t even close. The Chiefs ended up losing the game 3-2.
Sanchez went 1-for-4 in today’s game, including a single during the 9th inning rally.
