Steve Strikeout: Strasburg kicked his rehab into high gear by striking out the first three Pawtucket batters he faced on Monday night. He continued to throw hard and mow down batters. He worked 5 2/3 innings.
What a difference a week makes. For his second rehab start Stephen Strasburg put the hammer down on the Pawtucket Red Sox, and registered 11 strikeouts while giving up five hits. The Chiefs also provided some major offense, including home runs by Matt Skole (1B) and Jason Martinson (3B).
The Chiefs won 9-3. Mission accomplished.
The Chiefs scored three runs in the bottom of the first, thanks to a double and a steal of third by shortstop Trea Turner.
The night turned out picturesque after a day that was spotted with rain showers. The official attendance was 5,646.
