Never Too Much . . . Once again the @occmenshoops squad delivered high drama in their 91-83 overtime win over @tc3_panthers. (Scores such as these are always closer than they appear). The SIF Co-Players of the Game were @ascrimale_15, who hit four of his six threes for 19 points, and @jaysaun_gunn, who logged heavy minutes and added 10 points. Ralands and Brinkley led OCC with 26 and 24 points respectively. The squad poured in 21 points in the extra session. Shout-out to Coach Saroney and his staff, who seem to take these nail-bitter/OT thrillers in stride. . . . #beentheredonethat #coolunderpressure #sifsports #coachingchessmatch #lazernation #njcaa #whatmeworry #tonyrocks #theyounggunnslinger

New Lazers Show Up/Glow Up/Grow Up/Turn Up . . . There’s something about a road trip that transforms good teams into exceptional ones. Not sure what Coach Wheeler and his staff imparted into the team, but @onondagawbb have been playing possessed lately. We have been particularly been impressed with the first year players, who have been showing a level of tenacity, hustle and a sense of urgency we didn’t notice before the break. The young ladies have grown up since their Florida trip, and tonight’s 86-58 win over @tc3_panthers was more evidence to illustrate that they are not freshman any more. Also helps to have a few experienced sophomores to motivate them as well. . . . #intensity #ringchasers #sifsports #takeitupanotch #lazernation #njcaa #roadtrip #strechrun #top5 #playingforkeeps #whathappensinvegasstaysinvegas #whathappensinfloridahelpslongterm

And another thing… . . . Flash back to the time @inspirationbygk invited us to the premiere of Freedom’s Call back in the day. The film featured Dorothy Butler Gilliam (left), the first African American female reporter to work at the @washingtonpost and photographer Ernest Withers. Butler Gilliam is pictured here with Richard Breyer and Robert Short. Her new memoir “Trailblazer…” is out now. We look forward to Kilpatrick having Butler Gilliam on his syndicated radio show again soon. . . . #civilrightssheroes #freedomscall #trailblazer #maynardinstitute #nabj #flashbackfriday #louisvilledefender #journalismmatters #inspirationforthenation #lincolnuniversitymo #ernestwithers #weallgothistory #pioneersinmedia #newsroomsneeddiversity
