When DJ, photographer, comedian Binx visited the SIF studio, we played one of his favorite vinyl records from back in the day.
Today is Record Store Day. The Sound Garden (of Armory Square) is one of the participating stores and will feature an in-store performance today.

Poet Cynthia Cruz gave a reading at the Point of Contact Gallery on Thursday.
As a continuation of the Cruel April series, the Point of Contact hosted California-raised, Brooklyn-based writer Cynthia Cruz yesterday. She read from four of her books with poems that featured themes such as religion, love, and loss. During the Q+A session , the soft-spoken Cruz shared part of her writing and editing process.

The Syracuse Chiefs have started the season strong. Their home opener is tomorrow and the first pitch will be thrown out by Syracuse University Basketball senior and local star Brandon Triche.

In a recent NPR story, comedian D.L. Hughley, who also a contestant on tonight’s ‘Dancing with the Stars, talks about his diverse musical selections.
Hughley is coming to Syracuse next month to perform at Funny Bones.
