Today in Syracuse the temperature reached triple digits. It was hotter here than in Miami, FL. Many of the city’s park pools (such as Thornden Park above) reached capacity as residents fought the heat.

The Central New York Jazz Orchestra played a Candle Light Concert in Armory Square last weekend that featured several artist from the Ithaca area including Catherine Gale,Mike Titlebaum (Ithaca College) and Paul Merrill (Cornell University).

Angelo Puccia’s Park Couch at Erie Boulevard and North McBride Street

Sculptor Angelo Puccia (above left) and his team came to Midtown yesterday and did some renovations on his welded metal public art piece called Park Couch.  The couch was installed in 2006. Puccia also installed a piece located on East Genesee Street near Nottingham High School.
