Lumhe Micco Sampson, ring dance

Micco Sampson, the son of the late actor and painter Will Sampson (aka the Chief from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest) showed his versatility this weekend at the Blue Rain Eco Fest in Hanover Square. He did a ring dance demonstration on Friday night, and then on Saturday he danced with pop singer Jana during her show.

The Salt City Slam,  organized by Seneca Wilson, brought a poetry competition to the Art Rage Gallery tonight. The rules were simple, you have three minutes to say your piece. Go over and points are deducted by judges in the audience. The photos (above) are from the first round of the event.

Angelo Puccia’s Park Couch at Erie Boulevard and North McBride Street

Sculptor Angelo Puccia (above left) and his team came to Midtown yesterday and did some renovations on his welded metal public art piece called Park Couch.  The couch was installed in 2006. Puccia also installed a piece located on East Genesee Street near Nottingham High School.
