Here are some key buckets by junior swingman Joshua Annan in a third quarter run during Friday’s MPH victory over Lafayette. The final score was 65-61.

The sound clip is from one of our all-time favorite Syracuse artists, Seth Marcel. We first heard this song on the television show Entourage.

Henninger point guard Romero Collier (4) drives baseline in yesterdays game versus Westill.

Henninger point guard Romero Collier (4) blows by Jordan Roland in yesterday’s game versus Westhill.

There can only be one number one team.

Henninger took control of Saturday’s highly-anticipated Section III battle with Westhill early using hustle plays and rebounding.  They reduced the Westhill dyamic duo of Roland and Reynolds to a solo show by Roland (who finished with 31). The final score was 59-48.

The game was held at Onondaga Community College (OCC).

ESPN announcer and SU grad ('84) Sean McDonough spoke at Newhouse School of Communications on Friday.

ESPN announcer and SU grad (’84) Sean McDonough spoke at Newhouse School of Communications on Friday.

Veteran sports journalist Sean McDonough has covered everything from the Olympics and The Masters to the World Series. On Friday, he advised SU students to get as much practical experience as they could on the Hill and early in their careers. And although he graduated 30 years ago, he still finds himself rooting for SU when they are televised (but not when he’s doing play-by of course).

McDonough called today’s SU v. Miami game with Kara Lawson.

Nottingham High School Point Guard Malik Zachery is on the rise this season.

Nottingham High School point guard Malik Zachery is on the rise this season.  He finished with 19 points yesterday in a win over Corcoran.

During yesterday’s 72-67 win over Nottingham Sophomores Malik Zachery and Jevon Jones made the difference (despite a monster game by Corcoran Jr. Marquis Gilbert). Zachery, who handles the ball like Steph Curry and has a first step like Tommy Gunn, darted through the Corcoran defense with ease and Jones proved to be a big-time finisher, especially in the second half.

The future looks bright for the Coach Jones’s team this season.

Hoop star Breanna Stewart (from her CNS days)

Hoop star Breanna Stewart (from her CNS days)

She’s been called the Kevin Durant of women’s game (although Durant doesn’t have her college resume), but maybe the best way describe Breanna Stewart is passion meets talent. Before it’s said and done she will probably be the most decorated baller from this area (currently she’s a close second to Dolph Schayes).

We wonder who will design her signature shoe once she goes pro?
