Sunday, September 6th, 2009“Excellence reflex is a natural reaction to fix something that isn’t right, or to improve something that could be better. The excellence reflex is rooted in instinct and upbringing, and then constantly honed through awareness, caring and practice.” Danny Meyer
I am saddened by the untimely passing today of J. Alfred Cage, pastor, teacher, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and musician. Pastor Cage was a strong supporter of SIF since I met him in about 2004. Part of his legacy was reminding us all to live full and leave empty.
He will be missed.

Tuesday, February 19th, 2008There are many people who have helped with this venture to inspire me and keep it going. One such person was my father-in-law and informal advisor H. Paul Norton (historian, psychologist, businessman and Civil Rights activist). Unfortunately, he passed away earlier this year. His death was a profound loss for SIF and my family. Paul lived a good life and left a great legacy And although not listed on the advisory board, he was always willing to share his wisdom and resources to expand our vision.
