Warm-up, 1.31.99

The Syracuse Table Tennis Club (STTC) started in 1972 and remains a gathering place for players of all ages and abilities. The group, which counts players from Ithaca and Oswego, as well as Syracuse and suburban communities, has over 50 members.

The group meets each Sunday at the Rescue Mission's Kieswetter Recreation Center.  

Early in 1999 I was fortunate enough to visit the club for two weekends and observe the rituals of the game. I found great camaraderie, fast-paced action, great matches and yes, I saw some awesome game-winning shots.
