Came to Jam

For
three days in July the streets of downtown Syracuse were
filled with the soothing sounds of jazz.
This
year's Jazz in the Square lineup featured performances by
Marcus Printup and Soul Mission, Grupo Pagan, Ken Peplowski,
the Central New York Jazz Orchestra, Manhattan Vibes, Ileana
Santamaria, Bobby Watson and Joshua Redman.
And
for true spirit of improvisation, each day's performances
were punctuated by jam sessions at Jazz Central, an intimate
venue located on East Washington Street.
Thanks
to the stamina of the musicians and the fans, those jam
sessions continued well beyond midnight.
