"Kings of the Hill"

The 2003 NCAA Men's Basketball Champions (Syracuse University Orangemen)

    The Orangemen's run for the National Championship this year was the perfect diversion from what's going on here at home and abroad. Syracuse hoop fans could escape from the non-stop coverage of the war with Iraq, the bitter return of winter in April, and a sluggish economy to enjoy the simplicity of sport a few hours at a time. 

This year's squad, with standout freshman forward Carmelo Anthony, made a post season run that was truly amazing.  The team's euphoric post-season march was almost as good for us as it was for them.
